A group of 39 postgraduate students from the departments of English, History, Political Science, Geography, and Commerce undertook an educational tour to Kangra and nearby areas.

They also visited the scenic Kunal Pathari Tea Gardens, along with the picturesque HPCA Stadium and Bhagsunag Waterfall, gaining insights into eco-tourism and environmental conservation.
The Kangra segment of the tour provided deep historical exposure. Students visited the Kangra Fort- one of the oldest forts in India-where they observed its strategic location and architectural features. At the Kangra War Memorial, they reflected on the region's contribution to national service. Visits to Jwala Ji Temple and Baglamukhi Mata Temple helped them understand the religious importance of Shakti worship traditions in North India.
A highlight of the tour was the visit to the Masroor Rock Cut Temples, an 8th-century monolithic structure, where students observed early examples of rock-cut architecture in North India. They also explored local havelis and markets, gaining first-hand knowledge of Kangra's traditional architecture and local economy.
The tour successfully linked classroom learning with field experience, especially in the context of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), by exposing students to indigenous architecture, cultural practices, and sustainable hill lifestyles.
Overall, the tour was informative, well-coordinated, and highly enriching;leaving students with valuable academic insights and memorable experiences.
