Industrial Visit ot dustD2 Fagu, Shimla
An industrial visit was organised for 31 first-year B.Voc students of Hospitality and Tourism Management on 13th April 2026 to dusitD2 Fagu, an international hotel chain and five-star luxury property.
The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience of the four major hotel departments: Front Office Operations, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service, and Food Production.
In the Front Office Department, students learned about check-in, check-out procedures, and maintenance of the logbook.
In Housekeeping Operations, they observed inventory management, laundry equipment, and cleaning tools.
In Food & Beverage Services, they visited the bar and restaurant and received guidance on service techniques and guest handling.
In Food Production, students explored kitchen operations and food preparation processes.
Students also toured other premium facilities of the hotel, including the spa and wellness centre, gym, kids club, heated indoor swimming pool, and Jacuzzi.
During the visit, students gained valuable insights into customer care and learned important operational aspects of all four departments.
The industrial visit was a successful learning experience for the students. It helped students to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and its practical utility. Overall, the industrial visit proved to be highly effective and beneficial for the students' learning, growth, and professional development.
