Devbhumi in Dialogue: A National Conference was organized on 10th March 2026 by RKMV to delve into the roots of Himachal Pradesh and encourage rigorous research, thoughtful discussion, and collaborative learning in PG students and research scholars. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Aniket Alam (IIIT Hyderabad) on Himachaliyat and the Idea of Highlands.” The conference for students was the brainchild of Principal Dr. Anurita Saxena, to promote research skills and encourage students to pursue higher studies.
A plenary talk was presented by Dr. Uroosa Mushtaq (Deakin University, Australia & Coventry University, UK) and Vishal Sharma (Coventry University, UK) on Himachaliyat within the Framework of Intercultural Dialogue.
Five parallel technical sessions brought together more than 80 scholars, researchers, and students, within and outside the State who deliberated on the themes of Economy and Tourism, Belief and Language, Governance and Policy, Culture and Migration, and Climate Change and Sustainability
The conference gave an insight into how these young scholars see and perceive the Devbhoomi and provided a platform to highlight indigenous knowledge systems, explore syncretic traditions, and deliberate on contemporary challenges such as migration, urbanization, and climate change, while fostering dialogue to preserve Himachal's cultural and ecological identity.
