CHEM101 TH Atomic Structure, Bonding , General Organic Chemistry and Aliphatic Hydrocarbon To give insight of structure of atom, chemical bonding and basic concepts of organic Chemistry.
CHEM101PR Atomic Structure, Bonding , General Organic Chemistry and Aliphatic Hydrocarbon Learning skills in volumetric analysis and purification methods like distillation, crystallization, paper chromatography, determination of melting point and boiling point.
CHEM102 TH States of Matter , Chemical Kinetics and Functional Organic chemistry Gain insight into the physical significance of various properties of gas, liquid and solids and also derive their mathematical expressions. Learn and understand the preparation and properties of various classes of organic compounds (hydrocarbons, alkyl & aryl halides, alcohols & phenols, aldehydes & ketones, etc.) with important reaction mechanisms.
CHEM102PR States of Matter , Chemical Kinetics and Functional Organic Chemistry Functional group analysis in organic compounds and determination of coefficient of viscosity and surface tension.
CHEM201TH Solution, Phase Equilibrium Conductance Electrochemistry and Organic Chemistry To understand concepts of Solutions, Phase Equilibrium, critical solutions, electrochemistry and conductance. Preparation and properties of organic compounds like carboxylic acids, carboxylic acid derivatives, amines, diazonium salts and carbohydrates.
CHEM201 PR Solution, Phase Equilibrium Conductance Electrochemistry and Organic Chemistry Preparation and recrystallisation of organic compounds. Distinction between reducing and non-reducing sugars. Determination of Conductance and distribution coefficient of different solutions.
CHEM202TH Main Group Elements and Chemical Energetics To understand the importance of the elements in the periodic table including their physical and chemical nature and role in the daily life. To understand the various concepts of thermodynamics, chemical & ionic equilibria.
CHEM202PR Fuel chemistry and Chemistry of Cosmetics & perfumes Awareness regarding constituents and composition of petro chemicals, perfume, cosmetics and essential oils.Learning different types of chromatographic technique.
CHEM301TH Polynuclear Hydrocarbons, Dyes, UV,IR and NMR spectroscopy Methods of synthesis and chemical reactions of poly nuclear hydrocarbons, dyes and their applications. Knowledge of basic principles of UV, IR and NMR spectroscopy and their application in structure elucidation of organic compounds.
CHEM301PR Polynuclear Hydrocarbons, Dyes, UV,IR and NMR spectroscopy To perform synthesis of various inorganic compounds and their conductivity measurements. Separation of metal ions using paper chromatography.
CHEM305 TH Polymer Chemistry To educate students about Principles, synthesis and applications of polymers.
CHEM305PR Polymer Chemistry Synthesis of polymers by different methods and calculation of their physical properties.
