Commemorating Malala Day 17th July 2025
The Women Cell, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club and RUSA Cell of Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shimla, organised a guest lecture to mark Malala Day; a tribute to the courage and advocacy of Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, a global symbol of girls; right to education.
Ms. Geetanjali Thakur, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Narcotics) and a proud alumna of RKMV, was the esteemed guest speaker. Drawing inspiration from Malalas life, she underscored the critical importance of women education and resilience in the face of adversity. She urged students to embrace their college years with purpose, grow into responsible individuals, and remain vigilant against social evils, especially drug abuse.
She also encouraged the students to be fearless in reporting any anti-social or suspicious activities around them.
The programme was graced by Mrs. Kartik Mrityunjay Chauhan, Dr. Surinder Sharma (DSW), and Mr. Karan Bamba, President of Rotary Club, Shimla.
