Youth Red Cross Club

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Club of RKMV is a unit of the Indian Red Cross Society, State Branch, Shimla. It was established under Letter No. 183/YRC/03-07-406 dated 8 October 2007 by the President of the State Branch of IRCS, Himachal Pradesh. The club was formally inaugurated by the then Hon'ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Justice V. S. Kokje. The unit is duly registered with the State Branch and regularly deposits its contributions directly to the State Branch of the Red Cross Society.

The club organizes a variety of activities throughout the year, including health check-up camps, awareness programmes, community outreach initiatives, and other humanitarian activities aimed at promoting social welfare and public health.

Objectives:

  • To promote humanitarian values and social service among students.
  • To create awareness about health, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • To encourage voluntary blood donation and health-related initiatives.
  • To develop leadership qualities, teamwork, and civic responsibility.
  • To provide assistance during emergencies and natural disasters.
  • To foster a spirit of compassion, tolerance, and community service.

Student Participation:

Students actively participate in Youth Red Cross activities by volunteering in awareness campaigns, health camps, community service projects, and environmental initiatives. They assist in organizing events, spreading social awareness, and supporting humanitarian causes. Participation in YRC activities helps students develop leadership skills, a sense of social responsibility, and a commitment to serving the community.

Motto:

"Service to Humanity is Service to God"
