‘Rasotsav’ 2025 on 20th September 2025
In a remarkable celebration of talent, creativity, and camaraderie, RKMV hosted ‘Rasotsav’, an inter-college cultural fest, on 20th September 2025. The fest was graced by Sh. Prabodh Saxena, Chief Secretary, Himachal Pradesh, as the Chief Guest. Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Diector (Personnel) and Sh. Amarjit K. Sharma, Director of Higher Education, attended as Guests of Honour. The event also saw the presence of esteemed principals and facultymembers from participating colleges.
The competition was divided into four groups, to evaluate students on different creative and performance-based parameters. The learned Judges of the events were Mr Raja Bhasin, Ms Veena Sood, Prof. Him Chatterjee, Dr Amit Kanwar, Dr. Surinder Sharma, Ms Himani Saxena, Ms Deepika Sharma, Mr Vinod Channa, Ms Palak Bhardwaj, Dr Divya, Ms Geeta Kapoor, Ms Purnima Sharma and Mr Ajay Sharma.
GC Sanjauli won the Overall trophy with 29 points
RKMV came second with 24 points and
St Bedes came third with 17 points
The fest was marked by events such as Debate, Declamation, Essay Writing , Reel Making, On the Spot Painting, Rangoli, Photography, Light Vocal Solo (Indian ) Song,Folk Group Song (Indian), Group Folk Dance, Semi Classical Solo Indian Dance ,Western (Bollywood)Solo</p>
Dance, Western (Bollywood) Group, and Nukkad Natak(Street Play).
The college campus came alive with a festive atmosphere. On one side, Self-Help Groups and students had set up stalls offering Siddus, Kachoris, Pickles, Apple Burfi, Chutneys, and local handicrafts. On the other side hot, wholesome meal was served to students who had lined up in cheerful anticipation. With multiple events in dance, music, theatre, and art happening simultaneously, students were free to explore and enjoy performances of their choice. Nattis and dance were held in the open ground adding volume to the merriment and gaiety in the students.
The fest, a visionary initiative of the Principal Dr. Anurita Saxena, aimed to foster both academic and cultural excellence, strengthening the spirit of camaraderie amongst the nearby colleges of Shimla.
