Anti-Drugs Awareness Program 13th November, 2025
The NCC Unit of RKMV, Shimla, organised an Anti-Drugs Awareness Program on 13 November 2025 to address the growing concern of drug abuse among youth. Shri Ashok Tiwari, Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh, was the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker, delivering an insightful address on; The Menace of Drugs.; He was accompanied by DSP Ms Geetanjali Thakur, Inspector Ms Reena, and Lady Constables Ms Vanita and Ms Anandini.
In his address, the Chief Guest underscored the severity of drug abuse and urged students to commit to a drug-free lifestyle. He stressed that healthy competition in academics and sports paves the way for success and personal growth. Lady Constable Vanita, an alumna of RKMV and now a Police Commando, shared her inspiring journey, motivating cadets to remain disciplined and resilient. Inspector Reena and Ms Anandini spoke about the harmful effects of drug addiction, while DSP Geetanjali presented an informative PPT outlining prevention strategies and early warning signs. All the speakers urged the students to be a part of Anti-Chitta; Rally to be held on 15th November on the Ridge.
NCC cadets under the guidance of ANO Major Dr Luxmi actively participated in the program through discussions, slogan-writing, and poster displays, such as; Say No to Drugs,” making the program both engaging and impactful.</p>
The Principal, Dr Anurita Saxena, expressed her gratitude to the DGP, DSP, and the entire team for sensitising students on the dangers of drug abuse. She remarked that peer pressure and curiosity often push young people toward risky behaviour and emphasised that the college runs several support initiatives, such as Share and Care, to assist students who may need help and guidance.
