International Conference on "Prakriti Se Sanskriti" at MSHIPA, Shimla 28th to 30th November,2025
The IQAC, RKMV, in collaboration with the Earth Just Ecosystems Foundation, organised a three-day International Conference on “ Prakriti se Sanskriti at MSHIPA, Shimla. </strong>The event brought together 130 participants from across the country and focused on Indian Knowledge Systems reflected in craft, culture, community, environmental sustainability, rural livelihoods, indigenous technologies, biodiversity, and heritage.
The first day included insightful deliberations by distinguished speakers such as former Chief Secretary Mr Prabodh Saxena, HPU Vice Chancellor Prof. Mahavir Singh, IAS (Retd.) Mr Ramesh Negi, retired JNU professors Prof. Aditya and Prof. Mridula Mukherjee, and Mr Vijay Mahajan from the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. They emphasised sustainability, interdisciplinary learning, skill enhancement, diversity, and inclusive development. The day concluded with a vibrant fashion show showcasing Himachali culture and traditions.
The second day began with a recap of Day One, followed by a presentation by the Principal, Dr Anurita Saxena, who highlighted RKMV’s commitment to environmental conservation and responsible resource use. Multiple parallel sessions were held on themes such as craft, culture, indigenous technologies, biodiversity, environmental sustainability, rural livelihoods, and traditional cuisines. Brainstorming discussions explored issues like toxic fabrics, carbon credits, and Ashta Lakshmi. The day ended with the message; Swayam se Samudaye,” encouraging a shift from individual awareness to community-centred action.
The final day focused on creating a cleaner and stronger Himachal through personal responsibility and collective effort. Facilitator Abhishek Taneja guided discussions around the ideas of a clean, harmonious, participatory, and prosperous society. Participants also engaged in hands-on activities in four different groups based on their interests. The sessions encouraged reflection, dialogue, and meaningful action for ecological and social well-being.
Overall, the conference successfully blended academic insights, cultural appreciation, and practical learning while reinforcing the connection between Prakriti (nature) and Sanskriti(culture) for sustainable and community-driven development.
