The Department of English at Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shimla, successfully organized a One-day workshop titled & " Communication: A Life Skill; on 13th May 2025. The workshop was specially designed for the postgraduate students of History and Political Science.The keynote lecture was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Sandhya Sharma, a renowned academician and communication expert.
Dr. Sharma emphasized the importance of communication as an essential life skill in both personal and professional spheres. Her interactive session focused on verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, the role of empathy and clarity in effective interpersonal interactions. The students were engaged in practical exercises encouraging them to reflect on their own communication styles and areas for improvement.
The session was held in the esteemed presence of senior faculty members ;Prof. Vipin, Prof. Santosh, Prof. Poonam, and Prof. Shradha Shandil- whose support and guidance added to the
significance of the event. Their inputs during the discussion session enriched the learning experience for the participants.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks and positive feedback from students, who appreciated the opportunity to enhance their soft skills in an academic setting. Overall, the event.
