Educational Visit to Audit Heritage Museum, Shimla On 25 August 2026
The Department of Commerce, RKMV, organized an educational visit to the Audit Heritage Museum, Chadwick House, Summerhill, Shimla, on 25 August 2026. A total of 18 M.Com Students participated in the visit.
The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the history and evolution of accounting, auditing and currency systems, and to familiarize them with the role of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. Students explored the museum's collection of old ledger books, currency and exchange systems, historical records and archival materials.
The museum staff also briefed the students about the historical significance of Chadwick House and the evolution of India’s financial and administrative institutions. Interactive exhibits, videos and audio-visual resources made the learning experience engaging and informative.
The visit successfully connected classroom concepts with historical and practical perspectives, enhancing student's understanding of accounting, auditing and India's financial heritage.
