Lecture On Government Schemes for Safety, Security and Empowerment of Women 31 August 2026.
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Political Science, Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, organized a lecture on “Government Schemes for Safety, Security and Empowerment of Women” under the Legal Awareness Programme on 31 August 2026.
The lecture was delivered by Sh. Krishan Kumar, Department of District Programme Office, Shimla. The session focused on creating awareness among students about various government schemes related to the safety, welfare, security and empowerment of women.
During the lecture, Sh. Krishan Kumar discussed several important government initiatives, including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, One Stop Centre, Women Helpline (181), Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and other programmes aimed at supporting women and girls.
The speaker explained the objectives and benefits of these schemes and highlighted the importance of awareness so that eligible women can access government support and services. Students were encouraged to share information about these schemes with their families and communities.
The lecture was attended by 160 students, who actively participated in the session and gained useful information about various government initiatives for women’s safety, welfare and empowerment.
