Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya held its 47th Annual Prize Distribution function on 5th December 2025. The institution was honoured by the presence of the Honourable Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Shiv Pratap Shukla Ji, who attended as the Chief Guest, accompanied by the First Lady, Smt. Janki Shukla Ji, Chairperson, State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section. The NCC cadets extended a respectful Guard of Honour to welcome the distinguished guests.
Several eminent dignitaries also graced the occasion, including Secretary to the Governor Sh. CP Verma, IPS Sh. Dattatreya Verma, ASP, Ms Meher, SDM (Urban), Ms Oshin Sharma, Councillor, Ms Meenu Chauhan, Mr Anil Lakhan Pal, and Associate Professor Deepak Kaprete.
The Principal, Dr Anurita Saxena, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the significant academic, cultural, and extracurricular achievements of the students, along with the institution's future goals.
In his address, the Hon’ble Governor stressed India’s strong emergence as a global superpower, the urgent need to combat drug abuse, and the importance of adopting modern developments while upholding traditional values. He encouraged the young women of RKMV to participate in the nation's progress rather than remain silent observers of societal change.
A total of 194 prizes were awarded to students for outstanding performance in Academics, Sports, Cultural Activities, and various Clubs and Societies. Additionally, 11 students received the Nidhi Lakhanpal Scholarship in recognition of their merit and need.
The event featured a thought-provoking Nukkad Natak on social awareness (regarding drugs) and captivating dance performances celebrating womanhood and India’s cultural heritage.
The programme concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks by the DSW, Dr Surinder Sharma, followed by the National Anthem, marking a dignified and inspiring end to the day's proceedings.
