CSCA Oath Ceremony 30th Octber 2025

The Oath Ceremony of CSCA members was held under the aegis of the DSW Committee on; 30th October 2025. The event marked an important occasion where the newly elected members of the College Students; Central Association (CSCA) formally assumed their responsibilities and pledged to uphold the values and traditions of the institution. The ceremony was graced by the Principal, Dr. Anurita Saxena, as the Chief Guest. In her inspiring address, Dr. Saxena congratulated the newly elected office bearers and emphasized the importance of leadership, discipline, and teamwork in shaping a positive and progressive campus environment. She encouraged the students to work collectively for the betterment of the college and to uphold the ideals of integrity and responsibility in all their endeavors.The newly elected members of the CSCA took the oath of office, pledging to perform their duties with sincerity and dedication. The elected representatives for the session are as follows * President: Nikita Kumara * Vice-President: Amritanshu * General Secretary: Sweety Devi * Joint Secretary: Mehak Thakur The DSW also formally briefed all the members of their duties and responsibilities and also informed the students of CSCA as the bridge between administration and students.>

29th October to 4th November, 2025 Theme: Sustainability The NSS Units of RKMV proudly inaugurated their 7-Day Annual Special Camp 2025-26 on 29th October 2025, centred around the vital theme of sustainability. The inaugural ceremony was graced by our Distinguished Guest, Dr. Gopal Dutt Sharma (Retd. Associate Professor & National Awardee), and our Guest of Honour, Mr. Neeraj Sharma, NSS Youth Icon (National Awardee). The event was also attended by Dr. Mrityunjay Chauhan (Vice Principal), Dr. Surender Sharma (DSW), and Dr. Rajesh Azad (Senior Faculty Member). Special thanks to Prof. Amit Sharma for providing technical support to make the event a success.

A Milestone Achievement: AI Course for a Digital Future

Rajkiya  Kanya  Mahavidyalaya, Shimla, has become the first college in Himachal Pradesh to introduce an Artificial Intelligence (AI) course in collaboration with C-DAC Pace, Pune. The course was inaugurated today in the presence of the Vice Principal, Ms. Kartik; Shri Mrityunjay Chauhan. This initiative marks a new milestone in advancing technical education at the undergraduate level. The AI course aims to equip students with knowledge of modern technologies such as machine learning, data analysis, and automation, thereby enhancing their employability. Through this program, students will also gain hands-on training and practical experience in the real-world applications of artificial intelligence.

The Road Safety Club organized an awareness lecture emphasizing the importance of road safety. The session aimed to educate students about traffic rules, signals, and the penalties associated with their violation. The resource person highlighted the need for responsible behaviour on the road to prevent accidents and ensure public safety To reinforce the message, a Nukkad Natak was performed on the open stage, effectively depicting real-life situations and promoting the theme of safe road behaviour. The event proved to be informative and impactful, instilling in students a strong sense of responsibility towards maintaining safety on roads.

Inspirational Lecture for Civil Services Aspirants

Six young officers from the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS) delivered an inspirational and insightful lecture on 27th October 2025.  They interacted with students on the topics financial literary and civil services examination. In an engaging and interactive session, the officers spoke about their personal journeys, preparation strategies, challenges, and life in service. They discussed the role of the IAAS in maintaining transparency and accountability in governance and encouraged students to approach their career goals with focus, determination, and self-belief. Vice Principal, Kartik Mrityunjaya Chauhan in her address, appreciated the initiative, and said that hearing from young achievers who have turned their aspirations into reality has truly motivated our students. It has given them a realistic view of what success is and how it can be achieved. Students actively participated in the interactive session and asked thoughtful questions about exam preparation and balancing studies with competitive exam preparation. The officers responded with warmth, honesty, and encouragement, leaving the audience deeply motivated.

Diwali Mela 2025: A Celebration of Light, Culture, and Sustainability

On 17th October 2025, our college campus radiated with festive cheer and vibrant energy as students and staff came together to celebrate Diwali in a truly meaningful and memorable way. The day was a harmonious blend of tradition, joy, and environmental consciousness, reflecting the essence of the festival of lights. The celebrations began with a warm and insightful address by our esteemed Principal, Dr. Anurita Saxena, who spoke about the cultural richness of Diwali and its five auspicious days and ;Dhanteras, Chhoti Diwali, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai Dooj. Her words inspired everyone to embrace the values and stories behind these traditions, fostering a deeper connection to our heritage. Adding to the festive spirit, the campus was adorned with colorful decorations, lively stalls, and cheerful activities. Students showcased their creativity through beautifully crafted diyas, decorative items, and engaging games that brought smiles to all. In a thoughtful gesture promoting health and well-being, the AYUSH Department distributed medicinal plants like Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Jamun, and Lemongrass—encouraging everyone to stay rooted in nature and holistic living. A highlight of the day was the Diwali Mela Exhibition – Green Creations for a Sustainable Future, organized by the Department of Environment Science. Students from diverse academic streams—B.Sc., B.Com., B.Voc., BCA, B.A., and Microbiology & Biotechnology—presented innovative projects focused on environmental sustainability. Through project-based learning, they transformed discarded materials into stunning eco-friendly products such as organic soaps, handcrafted décor, fabric bags, foot mats, and potted plants. The exhibition not only celebrated creativity and responsible consumption but also received enthusiastic support from faculty members who purchased these sustainable items for their Diwali festivities. Together, these celebrations illuminated the campus with joy, unity, and a shared commitment to cultural values and environmental stewardship. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this Diwali Mela a truly unforgettable experience. Wishing you all a Happy, Safe, and Sustainable Diwali!

Visit to the Geological Survey of India, Chandigarh
Visit to the Geological Survey of India, Chandigarh

A group of students from Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, accompanied by their teachers, visited the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Chandigarh, on an educational field trip organized by the Department of Chemistry. The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to geological studies and insight into the functioning of a premier scientific organization. Under the auspices of Dr Vikas Bhardwaj, Director, GSI, the group received a warm welcome from the GSI staff, who delivered an informative presentation on the history, objectives, and contributions of the Geological Survey of India. The session highlighted the organization’s key roles in geological mapping, mineral exploration, groundwater assessment, and environmental research During the visit, students observed an extensive collection of rock and mineral specimens, fossils, and geological structures from Himachal Pradesh and other parts of northern India. The staff demonstrated the use of modern instruments and analytical techniques, explaining methods employed in the classification and study of geological materials. The students also had the opportunity to visit the Chemistry Laboratory, where they learned about the chemical analysis of minerals. Following the educational session, the group visited the Rock Garden of Chandigarh, encouraging creativity and environmental consciousness thus making the educational field trip educative, informative and memorable.

RKMV Celebrates 'Daan Utsav' – The Festival of Joy of Giving 08th October 2025

IQAC RKMV, along with Eco Club and NSS, celebrated Daan Utsav 2025 with great enthusiasm and compassion on 8th October 2025, along with the rest of India. The celebrations included the following activities: A lecture by renowned social worker, Shri Sarbjeet Singh Bobby, who inspired students and staff by sharing his personal experiences and reflections on the true joy of giving. A fund collection drive, through which staff and students raised ₹37,000 to support various philanthropic initiatives of RKMV. Out of this, ₹21,000 was donated to the NGO Almighty Blessings to sponsor langar for patients’ attendants and other needy individuals at IGMC, Shimla. Several members of the staff and student community also performed seva by personally distributing lunch at the langar. On 6th October 2025, as part of the ongoing tradition, staff and students together had prepared 500+ chapattis for the langar. This noble activity has been a regular practice of RKMV every Monday for the past eight years
